Kick It Out has launched a second version of its app, designed to help supporters report racist and abusive incidents at football matches.

The app – which is free to download - now allows users to confidentially attach video, photo and audio evidence in order to assist investigations into discriminatory behavior.

The app’s first version, originally released in 2013, only allowed its users to report incidents using text.

The new version also includes a key update which lets users report incidents of football-related hate crime on social media platforms.

The latest version comes after Anti-Kick It Out revealed that 50 per cent of the complaints it received for the 2013/14 season were related to social media abuse. The organisation also estimates that an abusive post is directed at a Premier League player or club every two and a half minutes.

Kick it Out claim their app has proved to be a success with supporters since its introduction - 38 per cent of all complaints from the professional game in 2013/14 came via the program.
