Ex-Villa manager eager to return to Premier League
Former Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has confirmed he is ready to manage in the Premier League again.
The 59-year-old has been out of work since leaving the Villa Park outfit last August after four years with the club.
O'Neill also had successful spells with Celtic and Leicester and, following a break from the game, he is now keeping an eye out for an opportunity to return.
The former Nottingham Forest player is captivated by the excitement of the Premier League and, while he admires Spain's Primera Liga and Germany's Bundesliga, England's top-flight remains No.1 in his book.
Excitement
"It's been an exciting league," he told
Sky Sports News. "It's been an exciting league for quite a number of years.
"I think it's the envy of a lot of other teams in Europe. The Spanish league is terrific, but it's a two-horse race. The German league is very strong and very well supported.
"The Premier League I think is something to be proud of. If you're involved in that league at all then I think you should take great pride in it.
"I miss it a great deal. At some stage or another I'd like another opportunity to go and manage in it again."
