Darren Fletcher believes Scotland will be fully focused ahead of their crucial Euro 2012 qualifier against the Czech Republic on Friday.
The Manchester United midfielder insists Craig Levein's side will not entirely resort to the defensive tactics employed by Rangers in the UEFA Champions League.
However, Fletcher is sure the Scots will adopt a more positive approach in Prague as is fully aware that a victory would give Levein's side a lift ahead of their game against world and European champions Spain in Glasgow four days later.
The United man believes too much emphasis has been placed on formations, amid reports Craig Levein could opt for an unusual 4-2-2-2 line-up.
"New formations and different ideas are part and parcel of being a professional footballer," he said.
"But a lot of the time it's about the 11 players on the pitch and the commitment.
"Formations are sometimes over-analysed and written about too much.
"We will prepare for the game however the manager wants us to play.
"We've been doing a lot of work and will continue to do so.
"He's not named the team yet so at training everyone will be trying to bust a gut to impress the manager."
Positive
He added: "We would obviously love to win the game here but if we can get any sort of result it would be a positive in terms of qualifying.
"We want to win both games but I think being difficult to beat is sometimes just as important.
"I think if we were to win the game, it would make it very difficult for them but they wouldn't be out of it. We saw the Liechtenstein game and how difficult it was for us."
