Rayo Vallecano fans pay tribute to former player Laurie Cunningham

Rayo Vallecano fans and players paid tribute to Laurie Cunningham - who would have turned 60 on March 8 - at Saturday's La Liga game with Eibar.

After making his name as part of Ron Atkinson's exciting West Brom team, Cunningham joined Real Madrid in 1979 before spending two spells with Rayo Vallecano either side of helping Wimbledon win the FA Cup in 1988.

Cunningham, who earned six caps after becoming the first black player to play a full international for England, helped Rayo secure promotion to the Spanish top-flight at the end of the 1988/89 season.

He was killed in a car crash in Madrid on July 15 1989 at the age of 33 - but Rayo Vallecano supporters still remember him fondly.
