Augsburg captain Uwe Mohrle could be sidelined until Christmas after sustaining a groin injury.
The defender suffered the setback in his club's defeat to Cologne on Sunday and is now facing a lengthy period of unavailability.
Mohrle does not know for how long he will be unable to train, but it is feared he will not return before the winter break in the Bundesliga.
He told Augsburg's
official website: "I am out with this injury and it is surely a blow for me, personally, as well as for the club.
"I am unable to say how long I might be out, since I never had any similar injury before. Therefore I cannot say how long rehabilitation will take for me."
