Goalkeeper commits to contract extension until the summer of 2013
Augsburg goalkeeper Simon Jentzsch has signed a new deal that will keep him under contract at the club until June 2013.
The former Wolfsburg player's previous terms were set to expire at the end of the season having joined Augsburg in the summer of 2009.
But both parties wasted little time in reaching a decision over an extension following successful discussions.
Jentzsch told Augsburg's
official website: "We had a conversation that lasted about two minutes. We found an agreement.
"This is why the club and I have the same ideas and feelings. I like to progress the team with my experience."
Augsburg general manager Andreas Rettig also thinks the experience of 35-year-old Jentzsch will continue to prove beneficial.
Rettig said: "In the last 30 months, Simon Jentzsch has won the respect of the people of Augsburg. He is a key player, one that also leads the lines off the pitch."
