Serie A side turn to former boss after Mondonico sacking

Attilio Tesser is back as boss of Novara following the sacking of coach Emiliano Mondonico after just 37 days in charge. Serie A's second-bottom club have reappointed Tesser to the hot-seat in a bid to close the 12-point gap to safety. The northern side, who announced the move in a club statement on Tuesday, won at Inter Milan under Mondonico but also lost three times and drew twice. The 54-year-old, who had not coached in the top flight since being sacked by Fiorentina in 2004, had previously quit as coach of Serie B club Albinoleffe for health reasons in June. Tesser was previously appointed in 2009 and led the club to successive promotions only to be sacked on 30th January following a 2-0 away loss to Palermo.
