REVIVO DENIES VILLA LINK
ISRAELI international Haim Revivo has distanced himself from speculation suggesting that he is set to sign for Aston Villa before Christmas.
The Celta Vigo star has strongly been linked with a switch to Villa Park even in the wake of John Gregory`s raid on Sheffield Wednesday for unhappy Italian Benito Carbone. Indeed, there has even been some talk that the deal is good as done.
However, Revivo slammed: `That is the news that has come out of Israel. There is a journalist I know and he publishes anything that he hears without it being confirmed. Somebody says I have gone to England and he puts one and one together and gets three.`
The talented forward joked about the rumours and mentioned that his next trip will perhaps be to Milan - another whisper from the gossip grapevine has been that the San Siro giants are monitoring his form.
`I have not had any offer recently nor have I thought about leaving Vigo,` revealed Revivo. `I have two years left on my contract and my intention is to fulfill them.`
And, on the fact that he has not entered negotiations on a new deal with Vigo, he added: `The club has other priorities with players who finish their contract on 30 June - there will be time to speak at length with me in the future if it`s considered advisable.`
Villa boss Gregory is said to be trying to persuade chairman Doug Ellis to release some more transfer funds as he looks to enter the transfer market again in the wake of injuries to strikers Julian Joachim and Darius Vassell.
