NO FOREST LOAN FOR STURRIDGE

NOTTINGHAM FOREST have had a bid to loan unsettled Derby County striker Dean Sturridge turned down as player-manager David Platt desperately seeks to replace Ian Wright in his side`s attack.

Sturridge has been transfer listed by the Rams and found himself surplus to requirements in the clubs fight to stay away from the relegation spots.

However manager Jim Smith has announced that he "will not let him go on loan yet."

The talented forward has been at Derby all of his career bar a brief spell on loan to Torquay, but has been disappointed with limited starting opportunities at Pride Park.

26-year-old Sturridge has scored over 50 career goals for Derby and would be a welcome acquisition to any side lacking a creative goalscorer.
