ARSENAL DUO IN BARCA LINK
Both of Arsenal`s Dutch stars have been reticent to deny that they have looked elsewhere.
Bergkamp stated publicly that: "I haven`t signed a new contract at Arsenal, we haven`t even spoken about it. Long-term it`s difficult to decide what to do. I want to see out my contract but beyond that I don`t know.
He also told "Match" magazine: "In the past I`ve been too eager to sign a three or four-year contract. I must think about the future - the implications about signing the last deal of my career."
Marc Overmars has also attracted a good deal of interest from foreign clubs, including Inter Milan and Real Madrid, but it is with fellow-countryman van Gaal that the strongest links have been made.
It is unlikely that either of The Gunner players will move before the end of the season despite the upcoming Spanish transfer window.
The speculation remains a worry for Arsenal fans who, despite being boosted by the news that Kanu has signed a new long-term contract, have watched their ageing rearguard come under increasing amounts of criticism and foreign legion seemingly develop cases of itchy feet.
However transfer speculation as to which players will line up in the red and white shirts next season have included such names as Luis Enrique and fellow Barca striker Patrick Kluivert.
