NO DOUBTING THOMAS
DANISH fans were given a glimpse of the future on Wednesday night when Peter Schmeichel made way for his understudy Thomas Sorensen.
The former Manchester United favourite injured his Achilles tendon during the warm-up but struggled on for the opening 17 minutes in pain. Schmeichel finally made the decision to come off, the tie was already won for the Danes, and Sorensen was able to replace him and keep a clean sheet.
The Sunderland keeper is one of the most highly-rated number ones in The Premiership and he is clearly the heir apparent to Schmeichel. For the record, Denmark triumphed 3-0 to seal a massive 8-0 aggregate win over Israel.
