FOWL PLAY

TOTTENHAM winger David Ginola believes Newcastle striker Alan Shearer only keeps his international place because of his reputation.

And the mercurial Frenchman reckons that England boss Kevin Keegan should play Liverpool`s first-choice strike force of Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler.

Ginola said: "Shearer is now playing on his name. He`s a great player`s player, but I like Robbie Fowler."

Ginola`s comments will be a further blow to Shearer who had a poor game in the second leg of England`s Euro 2000 play-off against Scotland.

The England skipper was also recently criticised by Manchester United`s Andy Cole, who labelled him as `England`s Golden Boy.`

Shearer and Ginola will come face to face on Sunday when Spurs travel to St James` Park.
