LEBOEUF: `I`M SORRY`

CHELSEA defender Frank Leboeuf has apologised to Leeds` midfielder Harry Kewell for stamping on his ankle during a bad tempered clash at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

The World Cup winner was shown the red card for the incident and now faces a hefty fine and ban from the Football Association. But the Frenchman insists his actions were entirely out of character.

He said: "It was nothing personal with Harry Kewell at all.

" I think he`s a great player. I just lost my cool in the heat of the moment with the frustration of it all.

"I have apologised to my team-mates and I apologise to Harry. I just lost my temper and couldn`t believe it afterwards. I would like to think it is very much out of character."

The referee of the match, Jeff Winter, said he had made a special mention of the stamping incident in a report to the FA.Jonny Wootton
