CROFT IS TAGGED MAN

IPSWICH TOWN full back Gary Croft became the first professional footballer to were on electronic tag during a game.

Croft, 25, was recently released from jail were he had served half of a four month jail sentence for motoring offences.

The tag was clearly visible on his left leg as he played 90 minutes for Ipswich reserve`s against Gillingham.

"I was very pleased with his display," said Town boss George Burley, "I was pleasantly surprised how well he came through, he will now be in contention for a first team place against Swindon on Saturday."

Croft was jailed just weeks after joining the Suffolk club for £750,000 from Blackburn Rovers.
