NO FOWL PLAY

LIVERPOOL striker Robbie Fowler is set to undergo an operation on his troublesome ankle and could be ruled out for at least another two months, according to a report in The Mirror.

Fowler saw a specialist last week on the injury which has plagued him throughout the season and flared up again after he appeared as a late substitute in the 3-1 win against Wimbledon over the Christmas period.

The news will come as a major blow to Reds` boss Gerard Houllier whose side were beaten by Tottenham in their last Premiership sortie and dumped out of the FA Cup by First Division Blackburn last Monday.

The Anfield club are now facing a major striker crisis with Titi Camara suspended later in the month and Erik Meijer still struggling with a calf injury.

However, Michael Owen could be available to play some part in his side`s trip to Watford on Saturday after he returned from a visit to a German specialist with a clean bill of health.
