MIDDLESBROUGH chairman Steve Gibson has defended his manager Bryan Robson, saying that Robbo will not walk away and he will not be sacked.

Boro supremo Gibson (Pictured) is Robson`s number one fan he will stay loyal to the man he brought to Teesside five and half year`s ago.

"Bryan has played a major part in what has been achieved here." said Gibson. "If you draw a graph of where the club has gone since he joined us, you have one line going up apart from the blip of relegation."

German international defender Christian Ziege has also backed Robson saying that the players must stop him walking away.

"He ha done a good job here and his position should not be under threat." said Ziege. "It is players who have let him down and we have to put that right, starting at Liverpool."
