MONACO INJURY PROBLEMS MOUNT
The principality club will be without star striker David Trezeguet (pictured), who has failed to shake off a calf problem. The 22-year-old France international revealed coach Claude Puel`s safety first policy. "I am disappointed of course," said Trezeguet. "But it is safer to not take any risks and to rejoin my team mates for the game with Strasbourg in the League Cup."
It is likely that Trezeguet will be replaced by Dado Prso. The Croatian forward scored against Metz in the cup, and feels that his first goal for the club could be a launch pad for better things. "I hope it is just the beginning and I will have other chances to give the win to my team," said Prso.
He also thanked Puel for the faith he has showed. "This goal is my way to thank him and to tell him he can still count on me."
Trezeguet is not the only injury doubt for Puel, as Marcelo Gallardo, Raphael Marquez and Christanval are all unlikely to shake off knee, thigh and ankle problems respectively.
