GUNNERS WAIT ON INZAGHI

SIMONE INZAGHI remains a target for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and he may get the green light to leave Lazio as Sergio Cragnotti`s club court other top strikers.

Even despite the signing of Fabrizio Ravanelli, allegedly a target for Liverpool, the Rome-based club are seeking a new hit-man now that Valencia are insisting that Claudio Lopez remains at the end of the season before completing his move to the Italian capital.

Two names at the top of Cragnotti`s list of targets are Edmundo and Juan Pablo Angel. The Brazilian is keen to quit Vasco da Gama and return to Italy although Milan are also showing an interest in `The Animal` while Angel, a 25-year-old, is being dubbed the `South American Van Basten`.

If Lazio are successful in their attempts to lure either of those two to Stadio Olimpico then they may allow Inzaghi to move on and there is reportedly a bid from Arsenal on the table for his services. The 26-year-old has scored three goals in five Champions League games this season.

The Gunners have been chasing a striker for some time with Kanu on international duty and Dennis Bergkamp injured and they would be particularly interested in a loan raid for Inzaghi.
