COVENTRY v CHARLTON
Other than Barnsley, Charlton have the deadliest strike force in the First Division. They have netted their 52 goals - an average of 1.86 per game - from 16 per cent of their strikes on goal. By comparison, the Sky Blues have converted just 13 per cent of their shots into goals - grabbing 30 goals at a rate of 1.36 per match.
Despite the performances of 10-goal hitman Robbie Keane, Charlton are still the more accurate shooting outfit. With Andy Hunt landing more shots on target than any other First Division player, the Londoners have hit the target with 53 per cent of their efforts - more than any other Division One side.
Charlton have conceded goals at the rate of one per game, but, the Coventry defence is one of the tightest in the Premiership - conceding an average of just 1.09 goals per game. The fact that the Sky Blues are facing world class strikers every week makes their defensive performances even more impressive.
The Addicks have yet to face a Premiership club since their relegation from the top-flight and will only know how far they have come since then after this match. Coventry`s back-line will have to be on its guard, however, if Charlton`s flying forwards are not to book their place in the next round of the cup.
Charlton skipper Mark Kinsella returns from illness and Martin Pringle is back after recovering from a hip injury. Swedish star Matthias Svensson, a recent £600,000 signing from Crystal Palace, is cup tied.
City are still without David Burrows, Marc Edworthy, Marcus Hall and John Aloisi through injury while Youssef Chippo and Mustapha Hadji are on African Nations Cup duty with Morocco.
Richard Shaw, however, is due to return after 10 weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury.
