EYAL STAY AT CELTIC

CELTIC star Eyal Berkovic has blasted the Scottish press for waging a vendetta against him - angrily denying the Daily Record`s report that he is unhappy with his career at Celtic.

Berkovic told press in his native Israel: "I will stay here for five years. It is a big pleasure for me to play for this kind of club and I don`t know there are stories saying that I want to leave."

"Okay, maybe if Manchester United or Juventus come in with a big offer then I will think about it, but otherwise I want to stay here."

The Israeli international also retracted his earlier statement that the Scottish title race was already over saying: "I am an optimist so maybe we have a chance in the league, but at least we still have the two cups to play for.

"We will keep trying to improve as we still have two cups that can win this season and they are also very important."
