DAN DESPERATE FOR TOP JOB

DAN PETRESCU has safely signed and sealed his new contract at Chelsea - and he has now set his sights on Gianluca Vialli`s job!

A cluster of continental clubs were intent on tempting the Romanian international away from England, but the 32-year-old has possibly committed the rest of his career to the Londoners.

"I want to play in the 2002 World Cup with Romania, if we qualify, and then stop playing," he said. "Then I would like to coach in England - and my ideal job would be to manage Chelsea and take over from Luca."

Petrescu has already had experience of playing in Italy and he has no intention of leaving the English capital. "My agent told me there was interest from other clubs," he revealed. "But I told them I wasn`t interested in speaking to them.

"I am very happy here and my family are settled in London - my youngest daughter`s middle name is Chelsea - and I think there is more success to come at the club."
