CAGLIARI CRUSHED BY FIORE BRACE

STEFANO FIORE grabbed a brace and Udinese routed struggling Cagliari 5-2 in Saturday`s second Serie A match.

Udinese breezed into a first half lead when Cagliari`s Fabian O`Neill tried to head back to his goalkeeper but Massimo Margiotta nipped in between the two to head the ball into the unguarded net.

The second half started well for Udinese as Martin Jorgensen slotted home the second but Cagliari showed some fight. Luis Olivera saw his shot sneak under Udinese`s keeper Luigi Turci, only two minutes after Udinese got their second to make it 2-1.

Cagliari equalised when Fabio Macellari smashed in a 25-yard effort but Udinese finished the stronger of the two sides.

Fiore converted a penalty with 16 minutes left after Jason Mayele had brought down Thomas Locatelli (pictured), then three minutes later Roberto Muzzi made the game safe, finishing off a fantastic passing move.

Nine minutes from time and it was all over as Fiore chipped home for his second of the game.

The referee added to Cagliari`s misery when he sent off Zairean Mayele with only two minutes remaining for his second bookable offence.
