ARSENAL CONFIRM FIFA INVESTIGATION

ARSENAL have confirmed that they will be calling Fifa in to investigate the mooted transfer of Marc Overmars to Barcelona - especially over suggestions that the left-winger has already signed a pre-contract agreement with the Spanish club.

Thera has long been a suggestion that Overmars is being viewed by the Spanish Club but Wenger is reportedly livid about the way the player has been courted, and a suggestion of bringing in Fifa was made last week.

If Barcelona are forced to look elsewhere there is already a suggestion that they have lined up a move for left sided Israeli international Haim Revivo.

The player has stated his desire to play for the Catalan club saying: "I know that Van Gaal has always been interested in me. Every year I am linked to the club but maybe this time₻"

"I finish my contract in 2001, and Celta Vigo know that if they want to receive any money for me then it must be this year."

Barcelona have been boosted by the news that influential goalkeeper Ruud Hesp will stay on at the club for another season.

The Dutch custodian had been expected to leave Spain at the end of the season when his contract ran out, but has decided to sign an extension for another year.

Barca have already signed themselves a replacement for their number one with current Celta Vigo player, and French International, Richard Dutruel but the presence of the commanding Hesp will be welcomed at the Nou Camp.
