MANNINGER TOLD TO LEAVE GUNNERS

ARSENAL goalkeeper Alex Manninger has been advised to leave the London club for a side where he will be the regular goalkeeper if he is to keep his place in the Austrian national team by their coach Otto Baric.

Manninger has found himself back on the substitute`s bench since the return from injury of David Seaman and has been told by Baric that he will not be picked unless he is playing regular first-team football.

"I have given Manninger some good advice - I have told him to look for another club.

"I will only call players who are in form and have match experience in the squad," he said.

Manninger is now expected to be dropped from the squad to face Sweden on March 29, despite being between the posts for the Austrian`s last game, a 4-1 defeat to Greece, which led Baric to add: "I learned my lesson against Greece.

"I was disappointed and depressed after that defeat, but I have not lost my motivation despite the difficult situation that we are in. I see a light in the distance."
