SA PINTO STAYING - FOR NOW
PORTUGUESE striker Sa Pinto has affirmed his desire to continue playing in Spain, with Real Sociedad, despite interest from Sporting Lisbon.
The international attacker, expected to play a key part for Humberto Coelho`s side in Euro 2000, has been linked with a return to the Portuguese league in the wake of Real`s potentially disastrous form this season.
However, the 27-year-old has pledged his future, at least for the time being, to his current club. "My head is with Real Sociedad," he admitted. Although where his heart lies, is perhaps open to question, as he is thought to have great affection for Sporting.
"I know nothing on this subject," he retorted when quizzed on the interest from Lisbon. "I am unware of this, nor do I want to think about it because my head is with Real, who need points to stay in the Spanish League."
