CAREW OUT TO JUSTIFY FEE
JOHN CAREW completed his record move to Valencia and then pledged to justify the £5.75 million that his new club were forced to pay Rosenborg to fight off competition from Borussia Dortmund.
The deal takes effect from July 1st, at the latest, as Carew will continue to play for RBK up until the summer. "I would like to play as much of the spring at Rosenborg as possible, as I think that would give me a better chance of making the Norway squad."
When asked about the financial side of the mega-transfer, the most expensive in his country`s history, Carew merely answered: "I`ve got my share."
Valencia will pay ten percent of the transfer fee now, another 25% in the summer and the rest within three months. His former club Valerenga also gain a percentage of the fee.
