OGGY GUNNED DOWN
The veteran keeper became the oldest player in the history of the Premiership, being a year older than Neville Southall who has been in Bradford`s side recently and made good saves from Ray Parlour and Oleg Luzhny in a fairly uneventful first half.
He was beaten just five minutes after the restart when Thierry Henry finished coolly after running onto Patrick Vieira`s fine through-ball which had sprung Coventry`s offside trap.
The Gunners were in control for most of the game and might have added to their lead around the hour mark when Emmanuel Petit`s shot hit the post, but Marc Overmars could only direct the rebound straight at Ogrizovic.
Two quick goals from the Londoners ensured that the miss was forgotten within 20 minutes.
First, Gilles Grimandi collected Petit`s in-swinging free-kick on the edge of the six-yard box, turned and finished well.
Then, a minute later, Petit put Kanu through and the lanky Nigerian waited for Ogrizovic to commit himself before slipping the ball into the net and securing the victory which takes Arsenal up to fourth place.
The rest of the match continued in much the same vein, with only Ogrizovic preventing a much heavier defeat for The Sky Blues.
