TREBLE BOOST FOR PALACE

CRYSTAL PALACE have been boosted by the news that both Clinton Morrison and Andy Linighan have revealed that they want to be at the club next season.

Striker Morrison (pictured), with 15 goals to his credit this season, has been linked with a number of moves away from Selhurst Park to top flight clubs, but has revealed that he would like to stay next season.

"I'll definitely be here next season," he said. "I like it here and like the fans. If Steve Coppell buys players I think we will have a good side. Palace are still a big club and should be aiming for the Premiership."

Linighan, 38, is out of contract but has revealed that he wants one more year at the club before retiring.

"I feel that another season would be perfect and I believe that I can play for another year at this level, to take me to 20 in the game.

"I'd love to stay at Palace. I have a good rapport with the supporters, players and people at the club. Steve Coppell has been in touch about a contract and I think I've done enough to earn one."

Meanwhile, the club closed in on completion of a £10.6 million takeover deal on Tuesday when contracts were exchanged, with administrator Simon Paterson saying: "We have entered into a business sale agreement with Jerry Lim's consortium.

"We are now proceeding towards completion, which we hope will be by the end of the month.  An asset sale has been agreed, the creditors endorsed the Jerry Lim bid back in January.  We are, however, going to court to get ratification for the sale.

"It has been a long haul.  The delay has been in trying to get the other factors in place, such as the debts to Strasbourg and Juventus which have now been resolved.  Jerry has been eager to sign for a number of weeks and should be in control by the end of the month."
