VIVEASH SET FOR BOSMAN EXIT
Viveash revealed after the 2-0 defeat at Ipswich that he will quit The Bescot stadium, a move that had been widely anticipated after the club and player could not agree a new contract earlier this year.
The central defender joined Walsall from Swindon in October 1995 but Viveash is upset at the club's refusal to offer him an improved deal despite a run of impressive performances.
After the Ipswich match Viveash bid an emotional farewell to the club's fans and has now started his search for a new club.
He said: "It's sad to say but obviously that was my last game for the club. I'll be leaving on a Bosman in the summer.
"The send-off the fans gave me was tremendous and very emotional. I appreciate them as much as they appreciate me and I am disappointed to be leaving.
"I made my mind up in January that I was leaving and I have played the only way I know how from the first game to the last, it's not about what happened on Sunday, it's about what has happened over the season.
"Other players were sorted out earlier in the season, for me it wasn't. I gave the club their chance but I have to look after my family and have to do what's right for them.
"I have received one offer of a new contract and that was in November and that was for a further year on the same terms I am on now.
"I feel that after 250 games for the club at a decent standard that I am worth more than that.
"I have played with my heart on my sleeve for five years and I think I deserve a little more than I have been offered."
