EVERTON 0 MIDDLESBROUGH 2

FORTRESS Goodison Park was breached again, as Middlesbrough made off with all three points, sinking Everton 2-0.

Brian Deane opened the scoring on eight minutes when he headed into the bottom corner from an acute angle.

The home side tried to raise their game, but were unable to break down the visitors` well marshalled defence.

Bryan Robson’s men secured the points when Brazilian midfielder Juninho linked up superbly with Deane on the edge of the area before slotting into the corner with seconds left on the clock.

Juninho will hope that this goal will persuade Boro boss Robson to make his loan spell from Atletico Madrid permanent.
