LOKVENC CLOSE TO KAISERSLAUTERN
REPORTS from Czechoslovakia are claiming that Sparta Prague forward Vratislav Lokvenc has turned down French side Lille and is set to sign for Bundesliga outfit Kaiserslautern.
Officials from Sparta refused to comment on the speculation, but stated that a press conference would be held on Thursday to announce new transfers.
In a reputed exodus from Sparta, Petr Gabriel is set to follow the 26-year-old to Kaiserslautern, while Miroslav Baranek could join Cologne.
Earlier in May, Lokvenc was reportedly on the brink of signing for newly-promoted Le Championnat side Lille, but the Czech media are now claiming that he has spurned their interest.
