CROSS THE BORDER COLLY?

NEW CELTIC manager Martin O'Neill may be set to swoop for Leicester City's Stan Collymore - with the British media reporting that a bid of around £2 million will be made.

Collymore, who was sold to O'Neill for £500,000 whilst he was Leicester manager from Aston Villa and went through something of a renaissance at Filbert Street, is still recovering from a broken leg that prematurely ended his season.

However, the former Liverpool and Nottingham Forest star is without doubt one of the most talented strikers in the Premiership on his day, although he has not lived up to the hype that saw him move for a massive £8.5 million from Nottingham Forest to Liverpool.

Since O'Neill left Leicester for Scotland there has been several stories linking Foxes stars with a move to Scotland - including Gerry Taggart and Neil Lennon - but the Irishman is a fan of Collymore and may need to find immediate cover for Mark Viduka, almost certainly departing from the Scottish club for either the Premiership or the Continent.
