SA PINTO IN INJURY SCARE

WITH England`s number nine Alan Shearer seemingly recovered from his injury scare for their first game of the tournament, his Portuguese counterpart Sa Pinto now seems to be a doubt ahead of the game between the two country`s on Monday.

The Real Sociedad striker, who would be expected to start for Humberto Coelho`s side, broke down in training on Saturday and the team doctors diagnosed slight damage to the ligaments of the right knee.

Although, the next few hours will be crucial as to whether the 27-year-old frontman makes the match he is confident that with ice treatment over the next 24 hours he will be fit to play.

If Sa Pinto fails to reach full fitness in time for Monday he is likely to be replaced by Internazionale midfielder Paulo Sousa, who proved his fitness by completing training on Saturday without suffering any discomfort.
