BERKLEY COMPLETES MOVE TO BARNET
AUSTIN BERKLEY has completed a move to Barnet after being released by Shrewsbury Town. Berkley, formerly with Gillingham and Swindon, has signed a two-year contract at Underhill and will be looking to put last season's injury problems behind him and make a name for himself with his new club. The 27-year-old rejected offers from both Rushden and Diamonds and Boston United to sign with the Third Division outfit. "If I had to leave Shrewsbury, I always wanted to go back to London," said Berkley. "Last season was a disappointing one for me but John Still (Barnet manager) said yesterday that he'd always rated me and that I could play out on the wing or tucked in a three-man midfield. He needs people to play in different positions. "I want to thank the Town fans again for all their support. They were absolutely fantastic ever since I've been here."
