BARCA: FIGO & RIQUELME D-DAY JULY 23

LUIS FIGO'S proposed move to Lazio is waiting on the election of the new Barcelona president after the Portuguese star agreed terms with the Serie A club, while Juan Roman Riquelme could be set to join if Jaume Llaurado is elected.

The date that will decide the future of both players is July 23, when the new president will be elected.

Figo has claimed that he has agreed personal terms with Lazio, which will reportedly earn him £3 million-a-year over four years.

However, the two clubs have yet to agree a fee and he said: "My manager Jose Veiga came to an agreement with Lazio on Thursday in London. Now Lazio and Barcelona have to find and agreement.

"I was happy to play with Barcelona but I cannot wait until July 23 for my future to be decided."

Argentine international Riquelme is close to finalising an £18 million move from Boca Juniors and said: "If I had to choose a foreign club then it would be Barca. After all, it's where Maradona played."

However, his deal hinges on whether Jaume Llaurado is elected president, and the candidate said: "I have an agreement with Boca Juniors and if I win the elections then Riquelme will be playing for Barcelona."
