INZAGHI LINKED WITH GUNNERS

ARSENAL are lining up a move for Juventus forward Filippo Inzaghi, according to a report in Italian newspaper La Stampa.

There was a wave of transfer speculation surrounding Inzaghi after his alleged falling out with strike partner Alessandro Del Piero in April, which led to the player being linked with a number of clubs including Roma, Milan, Inter and Lazio. However, it is believed that Juventus are not keen to lose the services of the talented Italian.

Arsenal are reported to have made a 50 billion Lira (£16.3 million) offer for Inzaghi as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his front line for next season's Premiership campaign.

Inzaghi scored 15 goals in 33 appearances in Serie A last season and this made him one of the pre-tournament favourites to be top goalscorer at Euro 2000.

However, Inzaghi's recent performances have done little to justify this prediction, despite converting a penalty against Turkey, and the 26-year-old will be looking to improve on his goal tally in Italy's final Group B match against Sweden on Monday night.

A separate report has linked Bologna`s Kennet Andersson with a move to Highbury, as the rumour-mill goes into overdrive. The tall Swede is in action for his country on Thursday evening, when they take on Turkey.
