NOLAN TO SIGN FOR BRADFORD
The Northern Ireland international has agreed terms with The Bantams and will undergo a medical on Monday before finalising the deal.
Nolan, 30 next week, spent six years at Hillsborough after starting his career at Tranmere, but could not agree a new deal with the cash-strapped Owls during their relegation season.
Hutchings, speaking in Lithuania where Bradford defeated Atlantas 3-1 in the Intertoto Cup second round, first leg, said: "Ian is a quality international and a versatile player who can operate at either left or right back.
"We need cover at right back, but I'm not saying that is what we are bringing Ian in for. He is an experienced defender who knows what the Premiership is all about. He gets forward well, he's athletic and mobile."
Nolan could now straight into the team for the second leg of the Intertoto Cup tie next Sunday, with chairman Geoffrey Richmond adding: "He's a player Chris mentioned to me as soon as he was named manager and I'm pleased we have almost completed the deal.
"He is arriving on a Bosman and all that remains is for Ian to go through a medical as personal terms have already been agreed."
