LAZIO DISH OUT FOR UDINESE DUO
The Rome-based side are said to have spent for around £14.5 million on rising star Fiore and £14.1 for Giannichedda, who broke into the Italian squad last year.
Yet, the Italian champions are negotiating to loan both players back to Udinese for under £2 million next season before bringing them to Lazio for the 2001-2002 season.
Fiore had a very good season for Udinese after joining them from Parma, having won his first international cap in February, and was one of the best players in the Azzurri squad at last month's European Championships.
Giannichedda has spent the last five seasons in Udine and has three Azzurri caps to his name, though he did not get into Dino Zoff's squad for Euro 2000.
The move adds another list of names that have come and gone at Lazio, as they have been typically busy in the transfer market. Emanuele Pesaresi joined the Scudetto holders for £3.8 million-plus.
Meanwhile, youngsters Giampero Pinzi and Simone Mazzei were sold to Udinese and midfielder Dario Marcolin to Sampdoria for a combined fee in the region of £6.4 million.
