ALEXANDERSSON SET FOR TOFFEES SWITCH

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY midfielder Niclas Alexandersson looks set to complete his move to Everton as an immediate replacement for departing stars Nick Barmby and Don Hutchison.

Alexandersson's agent Anders Wallsten said: "Yes, he is interested, and that combined with the good dialogue with the club can give some conclusions."

The fee is believed to be around £3 million for the Alexandersson, with Toffees manager Walter Smith admitting: "We have had good talks in the past few days.

Although Wallsten refused to write off overtures from Aston Villa and Coventry City but admitted: "I don't think it's likely, but things change quickly in this game."

Owls  boss Paul Jewell admitted that a deal was in the offing, telling the Sheffield Wednesday official site that he expected the deal to be wrapped up on Monday.
