SAMMER KEEN ON LAMBERT RETURN
Lambert, who left Dortmund to join current club Celtic in the Scottish Premier League at the end of 1997, won the Champions League with the German side before moving back to Scotland for family reasons.
The Scotland international has gone on to establish himself as a first team regular at Parkhead and, as he is set to turn 31 in August, he will be aware that a move at this stage in his career may well be his last.
Sammer would have to pay around 8 million Marks (£2.56 million) to secure the services of the midfield veteran, who still has three years remaining on his current deal with Celtic.
