MERSE ADMITS DONS INTEREST
FOLLOWING the news that Wimbledon are interested in Aston Villa’s Paul Merson, the former England man has admitted that he could be tempted by a switch to South London.
Dons supremo Bjorn Rune Gjelsten earlier stated that manager Terry Burton had given him a wish list, and Merson’s name was high up the order.
The 32-year-old confirmed that a move to Selhurst Park was not totally out of the question, saying: "I’ve heard from John Gregory that Wimbledon have made an inquiry about me and I’m interested in joining them."
Merson is well known to Burton, having played under him for the Arsenal youth team.
