FEYENOORD TO OFFER BOSVELT NEW DEAL

FEYENOORD are ready to offer Dutch international Paul Bosvelt a contract extension that will keep the defender at the De Kuip until the end of the 2003 season.

The 30-year-old is expected to meet with club chairman Jorien van den Herik to finalise the contract details this week.

Van den Herik has stated that: "Feyenoord will do all they can do to keep Bosvelt, and shall work out a final proposal shortly."

Bosvelt is keen to end any uncertainty regarding his future and will be hoping that his excellent performances in Euro 2000 for Holland will earn him a lucertative deal.

Newcastle United have also been linked with the player, and will be keeping close tabs on the negotiations with a view to making a move if Bosvelt fails to agree a new deal.
