ROMA LEAD CHASE FOR WEAH
Since completing his loan spell at Premiership side Chelsea at the end of last season, Weah has been linked with a number of clubs throughout Europe including Fulham, Monaco and Bologna.
However, Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has said that Serie A rivals Roma have contacted him to enquire about Weah.
"This morning (Wednesday) I received a call from the president of Roma, Franco Sensi, who asked me for information about the player," said Galliani.
Roma coach Fabio Capello is keen to link back up with the player that he worked with during his time at AC Milan, and a move to the capital would see Weah form a partnership with prolific Argentinian goalscorer Gabriel Batistuta.
Weah has spoken of his respect for Capello, saying: "I have worked with him for four years, he has done a lot for me. I have spoken to him a number of times in recent years."
Any deal to bring Weah to Rome may see Italian international striker Vincenzo Montella leave the club, with Inter Milan known to be interested in signing the player.
Weah has stressed that his decision on his future will not be influenced by money, and insisted that he just wants to play at the highest level and win trophies.
"If my decisions had been controlled by money I would never have left Paris Saint Germain to join AC Milan," stated Weah.
Meanwhile, Roma are reportedly interested in signing Italian international Christian Panucci on loan, and the defender is known to be keen on working with Capello.
