BOSNICH SET FOR CELTIC LOAN

MANCHESTER UNITED goalkeeper Mark Bosnich will travel to Glasgow this week to discuss a year's loan spell at Celtic.

The Australian international has been pushed down to number two in the goalkeeping stakes since the arrival of Fabien Barthez at Old Trafford earlier this summer.

Despite vowing to fight for his place, the lure of regular football at Celtic, where manager Martin O'Neill is looking for an international-class goalkeeper, appears to be proving hard to resist.

A Jonathan Gould mistake gifted Dundee United their goal in Celtic's 2-1 victory on Sunday, and O'Neill is moving quickly to secure Bosnich for this season.

United are believed to have given the green light to the deal, as long as they are allowed to recall the 28-year-old at short notice, and are expected to pay half his wages while he is at Parkhead.

The player's representative Steve Kutner said: "As things stand Celtic made an inquiry, and Mark Bosnich will now meet with Martin O'Neill later on in the week.

"I'm not sure what is going to happen at this moment in time but I have spoken to Alex Ferguson and we'll have to wait and see now what happens."
