PETRESCU COMPLETES BANTAMS SWITCH

DAN PETRESCU has completed a move from Chelsea to Bradford City in a deal worth £1 million.

Despite a late bid from Middlesbrough the 32-year-old Romanian chose Valley Parade and completed a four-year-deal with the Bantams

Chairman Geoffrey Richmond was delighted with the move, saying: "A lot of hard work was done in less than 24 hours to get Dan here to join Bradford. He will prove to be a great acquisition for the team."

Petrescu himself was delighted at signing for Chris Hutchings' side, and hinted that he was not sorry to be leaving Gianluca Vialli's management behind at Stamford Bridges, although he did say that he would miss the fans and the club chairman, who he said made him feel welcome during his time there.

"I am very happy with the move to Bradford. I am sad to leave Chelsea for many reasons," he explained. "I was treated very well by the chairman and the fans - but they don't pick the team do they?"
