KEOWN: WHO WOULD WANT TO LEAVE
MARTIN KEOWN has fired a shot at players who are thinking of leaving Arsenal, and also stated that he would like to finish his career at the club he loves.
In the wake of Marc Overmars and Emmanuel Petit’s decision to quit the club, the longest-serving defender can’t understand why anyone would want to leave Highbury.
The 34-year-old believes that his colleagues should show more commitment towards the side, and also that The Gunners will be better off without the midfielder aces.
"They wanted to leave and their efforts are better served elsewhere." said the 34-year-old.
"There is something very special about Arsenal football club. I hope to finish my career here."
