The Fantasy Football Club: Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes picks his #One2Eleven

Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes picks his ultimate team from the players he's played with on The Fantasy Football Club's #One2Eleven.

The former PSV and Tottenham stopper has opted for a 4-3-3 formation and claimed it's a team that 'could win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and the World Cup' - read on to see who made the cut...

GOALKEEPER: Dida

I’ve played with some very good goalkeepers in the national team but I will pick Dida in goal. Even before I met him for the first time he was a great goalkeeper. He was my inspiration. He’s big but fast on the floor as well, technically very good.

RIGHT-BACK: Cafu

At right back I will pick Cafu. He was fantastic. Up and down, that gave the team so much energy because you could give the ball to him and he could go for any ball. He’s also a very nice person off the pitch and a great character in the dressing room as well.

CENTRE-BACK: Ledley King

At centre-half I will start with Ledley King. He was just amazing. He couldn’t train during the week and he’d come once a week for 25 minutes, 30 minutes maximum, and he was OK for the game. I cannot remember him making a foul. His tackles always got the ball and they were never unfair. It was very difficult for a referee ever to give him a yellow card.

CENTRE-BACK: Alex

My other centre-half is Alex. We played together at PSV. He’s a real leader. He’s a quiet guy off the pitch and in the dressing room but when he stepped on the pitch he became so important for any team. Imagine having Roberto Carlos on the left side and Alex on the right for the free-kicks. That’s a scary thought.

LEFT-BACK: Roberto Carlos

I used to watch and play with Roberto Carlos. He’s my left-back. His finish was amazing. His free-kicks were powerful and difficult to keep out. It was difficult to train against him. When he came to kick the ball against you it was very scary but fortunately in matches I played on his side.

DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD: Sandro

In central midfield I’ll start with Sandro. He was a real beast in front of the defence. He makes the defenders and also the goalkeeper’s job much easier because he goes for it all the time. He always show plenty of energy. Off the pitch he’s so fun as well and what a guy to be with.

Image: Gomes: 'Luka Modric was of the master class'

CENTRAL MIDFIELD: Luka Modric

This one is an easy one because this player was of the master-class. It’s Luka Modric. He could pass long balls and short balls with ease. You could give him the ball when he was under pressure. When you didn’t know who to pass to you could give it to Luka Modric. He would give you the answer.

CENTRAL MIDFIELD: Phillip Cocu

On his left side I will choose Phillip Cocu. He was so important during my time at PSV. It was always easy for him. You could give him the ball and he could pass, tackle and score goals. He was a great player.

LEFT WING: Gareth Bale

I believe no one can beat this man in this position, that's why it's easy to pick Gareth Bale. When he played his first games at Tottenham, Benoit Assou-Ekotto was injured at the time. For a short time he played at left-back and his energy was just amazing. Benoit came back and it was so difficult for Harry Redknapp to leave him out of the team and he put him as a left winger. He was just amazing. He was so important for us. The type of player that can decide games like he did at Inter Milan. We were one player down because I was sent off but he almost gave us a point on his own.

RIGHT WING: Ronaldinho

i could put Kaka here, I could put Robinho here but I have to go with Ronaldinho. His free-kicks were just amazing. Over the wall or under the wall as well. He used to do it at training sessions - him, Robinho and Roberto Carlos used to play with the ball in a short place and just keep it in the air for a long time, doing tricks. The ball never dropped on the floor. It was amazing to watch and most of the players didn't go to the dressing room after training just so they could watch him. That was just amazing.

STRIKER: Ronaldo

I played with very good strikers throughout my career but I'm choosing between two players. I played more with Patrick Kluivert but I have to pick Ronaldo. Off the pitch he was just a simple guy but on it he was a goal machine. He could finish with his left or his right, it didn't matter. In a short space he was so fast. If you put the ball in front of the defender you had to pray for him.
