VALENCIA COOL THEIR INTEREST IN DOMI

SPANISH Primeira Liga side Valencia have cooled their interest in Newcastle United's left-back Didier Domi.

Valencia had seemingly come to agreement with Newcastle over the transfer of Frenchman Domi but any deal now looks unlikely.

Magpies boss Bobby Robson had denied that there had been any contact between the two clubs over Domi and that the defender was an important member of his squad, especially after the sale of Italian defender Alessandro Pistone to Premiership rivals Everton.

Domi may even figure in Newcastle's opening game of the season away to Manchester United.

Valencia were also linked with German international defender Christian Ziege but his wage demands killed their interest and he is now set to join Liverpool.
