DELAP ADDS TO RAMS INJURY LIST
RORY DELAP has added to Derby County's growing injury list after suffering a cracked rib on the opening day draw with Southampton.
Steve Elliott replaced Delap after only eight minutes on Saturday and will now be in the team for the trip to St James Park to face Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
The 24-year-old wing back said of the injury: "I got into a tangle with Uwe Rosler and thought at first it was just a stitch, then it became quite painful."
The Republic of Ireland star is the latest to be ruled out of the Newcastle game. Jim Smith is already without the likes of Lars Bohinen, Craig Burley, Horacio Carbonari and Giorgi Kinkladze.
Smith Said: "We had some important players out against Southampton and it will be the same tomorrow. Derby cannot carry the depth of squad to compensate for the number of injuries we have."
