BJORNEBYE TO CONTINUE NORWEGIAN CAREER

NORWEGIAN full back Stig Inge Bjornebye has decided against retiring from international football, despite the fact he said Euro 2000 was to be his last tournament.

The 30-year-old joined Blackburn in the summer and it seems to have rekindled his desire to play for Norway.

"When I came back into the Norway squad recently I discussed that with the manager and he said he hoped I hadn't just returned for Euro 2000," said Bjornebye.

"I personally didn't think that would be fair on the others anyway so I guess I'll go for it now.

"When I retired a year and a half ago it was a very hectic programme and we were having another baby as well, but that's all gone well, my kids are growing up well, and I'm enjoying being back in the squad again."
